Is Hercule Poirot a gay?

flag-franceBorn in Belgium, Roman Catholic, Hercule Poirot is a retired of the Belgian police, where he held the position of head of security. During the First World War, the country was occupied by the Germans, he was evacuated with other refugees in the small English town of Styles St. Mary, where he solves the first puzzle known to the public (he had previously resolved others, but not transcribed by Agatha Christie): The Mysterious Affair of Styles. Then it becomes private investigator. Hercule Poirot lives with collected by its investigations, in England. Mature man of small stature, with a head shaped like an egg, a dandy appearance, hair dyed, a carefully waxed handlebar mustache, he is always dressed to the nines, impeccably dressed. Hercule Poirot is conceited, full of himself and he loves to be complimented. He is conscious of its moral as well as his comfort. His mustaches, considered as ridiculous, are his pride, just like the inestimable value which he grants to his intelligence. He will not hesitate temporarily sacrifice his mustache for a good cause in one of the first novels. Always polite, even obsequious, he sees itself almost infallible and no shortage to face the most terrible opponents, who, judging him somewhat ridiculous, tend to underestimate him and betray themselves in their behavior or about. We shall never know, but the doubt remains …
